Job description

We are looking for proactive, detail-oriented professionals who combine strong technical expertise with excellent communication skills. As a Data Solutions Engineer, you will play a key role in bridging the gap between product, engineering, and customers.

In this role, you will not only design and maintain data systems but also act as a product ambassador - understanding customer needs, explaining solutions clearly, and helping shape product features. You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure our data products deliver maximum value.

This is a hands-on role where your technical contributions and customer interactions will directly impact project success and product adoption.

Responsibilities

  • Data Pipeline Development: Design, deploy, and maintain production-grade ETL pipelines handling high-volume geospatial and transactional data.
  • Cloud & Infrastructure Management: Manage and optimize data solutions on AWS using services such as S3, Lambda, Athena, and Glue for scalability and performance.
  • Product & Customer Enablement: Work closely with customers to understand their requirements, explain product capabilities, and provide technical guidance. Support pre-sales and post-sales discussions when needed.
  • Software Development & Testing: Develop Python scripts, maintain code using Git, and ensure quality through testing and documentation.
  • Data Analysis & Problem Solving: Analyze and manipulate data using Pandas, Polars, PySpark, and SQL. Design practical solutions for complex spatial and business problems.
  • GIS & Data Management: Collect, process, and update spatial data using tools like QGIS. Work with OpenStreetMap (OSM) and mapping platforms such as Google Maps and HERE.
  • Product Collaboration: Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions and help improve product features.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Prepare clear technical documentation, solution notes, and customer-facing materials to support adoption and training.

Experience and Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Proficient in Python and SQL
  • Experience with AWS services (S3, Athena, Glue)
  • Knowledge of data processing and cleansing
  • Experience working with large datasets
  • Familiarity with Git and version control
  • Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines

Good to have

  • Experience with Dagster or Airflow
  • Knowledge of GIS tools such as QGIS
  • Exposure to product management, solution consulting, or client-facing roles
